Centris Walk on a Friday Night

November 9, 2012

Part 1: the past week sure has been a hell of a roller coaster ride for me. so to help relieve myself of stress and to celebrate na rin the little milestones, we decided to explore [what to us is] yet another uncharted territory--Centris Walk, along Edsa and Quezon Avenue.

we've been to Centris before but early in the morning for the Sidcor Sunday market, so it's a different experience altogether seeing it at night

cool flying UFO-like lighting fixtures
it was actually a thrill to see restos here which I've never seen anywhere else. kaya it took us awhile na naman to decide where to eat. haha.

in the end we decided to try a resto serving traditional Filipino food: Kuse.

Kuse pala stands for chef/cook
one of the considerations we had choosing Kuse was the ambiance of the place. it was pretty well-lit and at that time there were not too many diners pa.

when we were deciding pa, one of the dishes that caught our eye was the Paco Salad having tried it in Laguna--kaso we didn't end up ordering it na rin and opted for the more "regular" meals and got the following:

Pork Sisig Kapampangan

Pinangat na Laing
we ordered these two dishes with 2 cups of rice. sabi nga ni Jeff the meal was a fusion of each of our family's heritage. Mama is a Kapampangan, while his Dad is from Bicol naman. [haha, may gano'n]

half way thru the meal though, we still felt hungry and ordered another cup of rice and the Chicken Inasal

Chicken Inasal ala Pobre
by the time this was served though, we lost our appetites na and didn't enjoy it as much we had enjoyed the first two dishes. the outsides were too grilled and the meat wasn't as tasty. I did like though the ala pobre sauce and it could have been a stand-alone meal for me, haha

extra rice please!
over-all the place was okay naman. service was good and relatively fast. food was nothing extraordinary but if you're craving for the comforts of familiar food, and if you're near Quezon Ave. EDSA, Kuse will be a good choice.

busog!

Part 2: I just realized we hardly get dessert from the restos where we've had lunch/dinner in. normally pa nga we'd just get chocolate bars or fruit shakes. this time we tried Chatime. not really a milk tea drinker until recently and naaliw kami sa look&feel of the place

loved the couches!
purple and pink all over
hers and his: banana milk tea and taro pudding tea

sige jogging bukas!
I have not had tried that much milk teas and I tend not to choose the same thing rin kasi so its hard to compare. but I think you just might see me in a milk tea place more frequently :)
