since I can't move on yet with my pending travel blog posts will go ahead with my recent food discoveries
this was actually Papa's discovery. I think some of his friends tried the La Paz Batchoy and recommended he try it out.
and so we did.
Panakot's format was carinderia type so the meals were quite affordable. the place itself clean naman and was well-lit and they had picnic-type tables/chairs
since the place was known for its La Paz Batchoy - my parents ordered a bowl each and a pack of puto for sharing
regular La Paz Batchoy |
Manapla puto |
I have to say masarap nga ang batchoy. compared to others that I've eaten, the soup was a bit sweet and malasa talaga
my sister naman ordered sweet and sour fish fillet
it was actually more of fried fish fillet though. since they had a bottled sweet and sour sauce lang pala
and syempre I just had to try their version of the Bicol express which they call Guimaras Express. the dish could use a little more kick in terms of spicyness but it was pretty good
Panakot is worth checking out. sulit ang meals considering the price
the regular Batchoy costs 48 pesos/order
while the pack of puto is at 10 pesos/piece
the fish fillet was 58 pesos and
Guimaras Express at 55 pesos
pwede nang option for kids/students na pang-baon for lunch or if you've not had time to drop by the market to buy food na pang-ulam
Panakot is located at the building across Olivarez College and it's the one closer to Gatchalian Subdivision
p.s. I actually took Jeff here within the same week and he liked it naman. mukhang eto na yung new go-to place naman for our cheap lunch/dinner dates haha
